We have a bit of unfortunate news – due to the site’s current performance and the continued poor economic climate, EnzymePDX will be ceasing publication today.
It was not a decision that was arrived at lightly; the fact is that the current marketplace simply could not support a small, independently-funded news operation as we had envisioned it.
We hope you enjoyed reading our coverage, and that our stories helped shed some light on the complex nature of our city. We sincerely thank you for all your encouragement and support.

So long. God bless EnzymePDX and all those who sailed with her. John Vogler
What about that iPad you promised me?
aww, you guys have an awesome crew (and i don’t just say that because i like dusty, emmy, and ben socially)–you really did a good thing and put (IMHO) the merc and the willy week to shame with your overall quality and especially variety.
sure hope you can afford to leave the site up–i still have stories bookmarked that i mean to go back and read, and the ’5 things’ section is timeless.
It’s a loss to Portland and to the Internet. You folks have done great work. The willingness of your team to believe in something new and risky is inspiring.
I’m sorry the work has to end so soon. But good work.
EnzymePDX was a promising and enlightening break from the hyped-headline, cranky-commented world of Oregon Live and local TV websites.
I hate to see you go. EnzymePDX will be missed. Your courage and hard work won’t be forgotten.
Sorry to see you go, I was one of your biggest fans.
